Remote Sensing of Atmosphere and Ocean
Module coordinator: Prof. Kerstin Schepanski: kerstin.schepanski@fu-berlin.de
- Admission Requirements: Keine.
- Qualification: Students are familiar with the current state of ground-based and satellite-based remote sensing of the ocean and the atmosphere. They are familiar with the physical principles of common measurement methods and the mathematical principles of inversion methods and are able to develop simple methods independently.
- Content: Remote sensing of atmospheric trace gases, aerosols, land surfaces and the surface and constituents of the ocean: Importance of trace gases, aerosols as well as oceanic substances in the Earth's climate system; Presentation of measurements and simulations of spectra as used for remote sensing; Presentation of various measurement methods.
- This course is only offered in the summer semester.
