• Admission Requirements:  Successful completion of the module "Fundamentals of Experimental Physics".
• Qualification: Students have basic knowledge of radiation processes in the atmosphere and can calculate simple radiation quantities.

• Content: Teaching the basics of atmospheric radiation and remote sensing. Blackbody radiation, Planck's radiation law, solar and terrestrial radiation, absorption of atmospheric gases, Rayleigh and Mie scattering, radiation balance of the earth-atmosphere system, remote sensing of atmospheric variables (molecules, aerosols, clouds, precipitation).

• Module is offered in the summer semester only.
