Due to high demand, the FU publication fund for open access books for the year 2025 is almost exhausted. From 1 October 2025, no further open access books can be funded by the University Library in 2025 (with the exception of books resulting from DFG-funded projects, see below). The University Library will continue to process publication projects submitted up to and including 30 September 2025, provided that the applications include all necessary documents.

The publication fund for financing open access books is expected to be open for applications again from January 2026.

Open access books from DFG-funded projects are generally excluded from this regulation. These books are financed from other sources and are funded in any case (under the same conditions as in the publication fund for financing open access books).
