The license for the EndNote reference management program at Freie Universität will not be extended beyond April 2027. The reason for this is a decision by the Presidential Board based on a decision by the Service Portfolio Board of Freie Universität against the background of budgetary considerations. Citavi stays - Citavi Web is coming

Citavi will continue to be available to you as usual to enable reliable reference management. From 01.08.2025, Citavi Web will also be offered - a browser-based solution that is also suitable for Mac users. Endnote can still be used in full until the end of the license period.

Support for switching

The University Library is currently developing an exit strategy to provide you with the best possible support when switching to another reference management system. From late summer 2025, we will be offering information events on switching options. Training courses for the switch - e.g. from EndNote to Citavi or Citavi Web - will follow in the winter semester 2025/26.
