Early Closing on 10 December

On Wednesday, 10 December 2025, the library will close at 2 p.m. due to an internal holiday event.

Year-End Closure

The Earth Sciences Library will be closed from 22 December 2025 through 2 January 2026.
We will reopen on Monday, 5 January 2026, with our regular services.

Please also note:
The buildings of Freie Universität Berlin will be closed from 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026. This includes libraries that are normally open on weekends.

Limited Services

From 19 December 2025 (from 3 p.m.) to 2 January 2026 (morning), we are unable to process magazine retrieval requests or scan requests.
Placing holds on checked-out items will still be possible.

Due to these closures, there may be delays in processing your requests. Thank you for your understanding!

Loan Periods and Returns

• Loan periods for borrowed items do not fall within the closure period.

• Book return boxes are available throughout the closure period, e.g. at the main entrance of the Central Library, Garystr. 39.
