With the help of mantle evolution models, I investigate how interior processes affect the surface of a planet by linking mineralogical, chemical, and thermodynamic properties. For this, my PhD project specifically focuses on the redistribution of trace elements and how this redistribution influences the thermo-chemical evolution of terrestrial planets.

For my current research, following topics are of particular interest:

  • Partition coefficient modelling depending on pressure, temperature, and melt composition
  • Thermal evolution, crust formation, and volatile outgassing of planets
  • Planetary mantle/crust compositions and their evolution over time
