Under the leadership of Esther Schwarzenbach and Mark Handy, a group of students from the Institute of Geological Sciences, including members of the Tectonic and Sedimentary Systems group, went on a scientific field excursion to the semi-ophiolite in the Sultanate of Oman in February and March - shortly before the beginning of the corona pandemic. The goal of the field course was to learn more about ocean floor alteration processes, ophiolite obduction and subduction zone processes.
