On July 3, 2025, the MHEI team gathered for a day-long retreat at the Dahlem Campus to reflect on shared goals and strengthen team collaboration. The retreat combined practical updates with creative group work, shaping future direction and Team mission building.

The day opened with writing tips and planning for upcoming conferences and fieldwork, followed by a short session on managing internal funds. A highlight of the morning was a collaborative workshop to define a common MHEI Vision Statement, with input from all team members.

After a lunch break at the Japanese Mensa, the afternoon continued with a team meeting and a session on digital tools such as Obsidian and AI for research workflows. The retreat concluded with an informal discussion on next steps for the year and a historical walking tour through Dahlem.
