From February 10-12, 2025, the ClimXtreme II scientists met for the mid-term meeting of the BMBF-funded research network. The Disaster Research Unit is involved in the sub-project ClimXchange “Science-Stakeholder Exchange on Climate Extremes for Disaster Risk Reduction” together with the German Weather Service (DWD) and the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS). The DRU is particularly dedicated to the development of a toolbox for the knowledge exchange between research and practice.  

At the Mid-Term Meeting, around 50 scientists from 25 sub-projects shared their interim results, were advised by the Advisory Board and discussed further interaction options and workshops with practitioners. Theresa Zimmermann took part on behalf of the DRU and presented a poster on the current project status together with the ClimXchange partners.
