In their new book chapter "Krisenhafte Zeiten - Transformationen im Bevölkerungsschutz" (Times of Crisis - Transformations in Civil Protection), Theresa Zimmermann and Sara T. Merkes, together with Petra Krüger from the "Technischen Hilfswerk" (Federal Agency for Technical Relief, THW), examine the dynamics of social developments, changing crisis and disaster (scenarios) and changes in forms of engagement in the field of civil protection.

With reference to the THW, it will be discussed how organizationally perceived pressure to change, organizational willingness to change and resistance to change are intertwined. In order to understand the above-mentioned dynamics and classify their transformational character, an integrating perspective and integrating action of research and practice is proposed.
