His dissertation topic focuses on non-invasive methods for determining groundwater recharge of karst areas with quantum gravimetry.

Thomas obtained his M.Sc. in Hydrogeology more specific in geothermal energy from the Freie Universität Berlin (FUB) in cooperation with the GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam (GFZ) and B.Sc. in Geo Science also at FUB.
