Visiting Researcher Carolina Somonte
News from Sep 23, 2025
Carolina Somonte, archaeologist, is a researcher at CONICET and a professor at the National University of Tucumán. She has been participating as a collaborator in the ROSA project for less than a year. Drawing on her expertise, she seeks archaeological and historical information that provides greater temporal depth to situations of change and continuity in Andean socioeconomic practices.
The trajectories of these practices had an impact on the configuration of landscapes over the long term of land use. At the Institute of Geography at the Freie University of Berlin, she works with the team led by Maria Piquer Rodriguez to create QGis maps that allow these trends to be visualized.
Welcome to the Team Carolina!
