From December 6-8, 2023, the ClimXtreme II consortium met for the project kick-off meeting, in which Prof. Dr. Martin Voss and Sara Merkes participated on behalf of the Disaster Research Unit. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in the FONA funding line. The DRU is involved in the sub-project ClimXchange “Science-Stakeholder Exchange on Climate Extremes for Disaster Risk Reduction” together with the German Weather Service (Deutscher Wetterdienst) and the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS). The DRU is particularly dedicated to the development of a toolbox for the research-stakeholder exchange on climate change knowledge.
