Associate researchers Lena Bledau and Himani Upadhyay of the Disaster Rearch Unit (DRU) participated in an Indo-German Partnership (IGP) workshop entitled “The emerging role of Indian states in environment, energy and climate governance: Politics and challenges of decentralization”, held on 7 March 2017 at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay.

At the workshop, they presented preliminary findings of the project “Cultures and Catastrophes” and discussed the research interests of the DRU. The event was jointly organized by the Freie University Berlin and IIT Bombay. The IGP is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the University Grants Commission (India).
