Work- and Reseach Interests

  • Diagnosis of the atmosphere with regard to physical processes, especially to the topics understanding of the climate variability and of extreme meteorological events in middle latitudes, validation of climate modells und anthropogenic climate change

  • In detail the examined phenomena involve the cyclone activity, large-scale variability patterns such as the NAO, and the identification of conditions for storms, floods and extreme precipitation events. Interdisciplinary works together with the insurance industry and legal sciences complement technical approaches, especially with regard to effects of climate change and extreme events
