Research interests

Morphology, taxonomy, phylogeny and evolutionary development of both fossil and Recent coleoid cephalopods

  • shell ultrastructure with emphasis on the morphogenetic origin and evolutionary transformations of the proostracum and the gladius
  • soft tissue morphology preserved in Konservat-Lagerstätten and their phylogenetic significance
  • predator-prey interactions in the Mesozoic
  • comparative morphology of embryonic shells
