The surface of asteroid Bennu looks different than expected: it is covered with boulders and stones, which makes surface sampling scheduled for 2020 more difficult. The sample should be brought back to Earth in a shielded capsule expected in 2023.

The american spacecraft OSIRIS-REx reached the near-Earth asteroid Bennu in December 2018. Bennu has a diameter of about 500 meters and could collide with Earth in 2135. This animation of the asteroid was created from images collected by OSIRIS-REx while approaching Bennu.
