During its meeting at the European Space Astronomy Centre near Madrid, ESA’s Science Programme Committee SPC has approved the extension of the Mars Express operations to 2022. The extension is subject to a mid-term review and confirmation after two years. Since the launch of the mission in 2003, the spacecraft transmits valuable data on the atmosphere and surface of Mars. Our working group participates in the analysis of the image data taken by HRSC on Mars Express.
