Asteroid approaches Earth

Coming Saturday, 8 August 2019, an asteroid with a diameter of over 500 meters will pass Earth at a distance of about 7.4 million kilometers. Asteroid 2006 QQ23 belongs to the "Near Earth Objects", which is a class of asteroids that are potential hazards to Earth. ESA lists about 900 objects which could hit Earth within the next 100 years. Asteroid 2006 QQ23 is not found in this list, since its distance to Earth is considered as safe.
