We combine isotopes and the chemical composition of rocks, sediments and water with field and other data to understand planetary evolution processes

Our students receive hands-on experience in geochemistry, including clean lab and mass spectrometry methods

Our major research questions cover:

• Origin and evolution of the terrestrial planets and the early solar system
• The chemical and geodynamic evolution of the Earth’s crust and mantle from the Hadean to the present
• Controls on the chemical budgets and rates of weathering in the Earth’s near-surface system
