How do I find electives in the FU Vorlesungsverzeichnis (Course Catalog)?

In the FU course catalog, select the relevant semester from the drop-down list, and then the department or institute you are interested in. Within the departments, select a Master program from the institute relevant to your interests. When you click on the program, it will open the page for available modules in that semester. Within each module you will find one or more lectures and/or seminars available in that semester.

Once you click on a course, there is information about the timings and location of the classes, language of instruction, attendance requirements and “Modules where this course belongs.” The last one is relevant as a seminar can be part of multiple modules and you have the option to complete the module with any of the connected courses to gain credits. For further information about modules and courses in that program, it is advised to go through the Studien- und Prüfüngsordnung (Study and Examination Regulations) of that program as it gives more information about whether the course is graded and what kind of assignment is required to complete the module successfully.
