Jeshmi Machahary successfully completed her PhD viva on 24/04/2026 at
Gauhati University, Assam, India. Her dissertation titled ‘Place of
Small Tea Plantation in Udalguri District of Assam (India). Examining
Production Structure, Livelihood Transformation and Socio-Economic
Impacts’ has been written in the frame of our DFG-Project 'Small is
beautiful? Ländliche Transformation und Produktionsnetzwerke des
kleinbäuerlichen Teeanbaus in Assam, Indien' and supervised in
partnership with Prof. Bimal Kar from Gauhati University
