A relaxed phone call, a confidential online meeting, or simply a short period of uninterrupted work – all of this is now possible in the Earth Sciences Library. A new single-person work booth provides an additional retreat for focused work and digital communication.

Designed in a practical phone booth format, the sound-insulated Soho booth offers space for one person and is located directly behind the textbook collection on the ground floor of the library. With its striking turquoise colour, it adds a modern accent to the library environment.

The acoustically optimized booth was designed for situations where quiet and privacy are essential. Sound-absorbing interior surfaces create a pleasant atmosphere for phone calls, video conferences, or focused work sessions. The acoustic panels are made from recycled polyester, thereby also supporting sustainability goals.

The booth is equipped with integrated LED lighting, automatic ventilation, and a spacious worktable. A power outlet, two USB ports, and wireless smartphone charging provide convenient support for working with a laptop, tablet, or mobile phone.

The work booth is available at any time and does not require prior booking. It complements the existing range of workspaces in the Earth Sciences Library and offers all library users a flexible place for quiet work, digital conversations, or a short break.
