Structure and Organisation
Figure 4 illustrates the structure of the DFG Research Unit SHARP. SHARP will be coordinated by Ulrike Langematz (PC). She will also act as speaker of the DFG Research Unit and maintain the contact to DFG. The science questions of SHARP will be addressed in four individual scientific projects P1-P4 led by Principle Investigators (PI). The project management will be organised in Project 5 (P5) by a Program Manager (PM) who will be in charge of the management and administrative duties of SHARP. P5 will be carried out at FUB. We introduce the scientific projects P1-P4, we introduce the Partners of the consortium, and we describe the tasks of the management project P5. Cross-cutting issues between the projects will be handled by a Steering Committee (SC) in which Ulrike Langematz as PC, the four project leaders and the program manager will be members. Regular meetings of the SHARP consortium will be held and reports on the progress of SHARP will be prepared for the external project evaluation (EPE).

The Science Projects P1-P4
The four scientific projects are collaborative projects of several institutions respectively. The principal investigators (PIs) will be responsible for the coordination of the activities within the individual project. The working group in each project will be complemented by co-investigators (Co-Is) from the same or other institutions who also apply for funding within SHARP. Additionally, each project will actively be supported by colleagues from the other SHARP projects without requesting funding in this special project (Partners).
