The term „landscape“ in landscape archaeology

Landscape is a term with many meanings. It was firstly mentioned central Europe in the 9th century CE, defining the population of a territory. In the field of arts the term landscape describes a painted section of nature (Kluiving/Guttmann-Bond 2012; Förster u.a. 2013).

Even geoscientists and scientists of classical studies have different points of view concerning the term landscape. This module aims to illustrate the different disciplinary perspectives on the term landscape.
