NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) was nominated for the most prominent television award Emmy for the Cassini Grand Finale interactive program. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft has been launched in 1997 to Saturn and observed the ring planet and its moons until 2017. On 15 September 2017, the controlled crash into Saturn's atmosphere marked the end of the long-time successful mission.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences nominated the digital campaign for Cassini's Grand Finale in the category Outstanding Original Intractive Program. Prior to, during, and after the Cassini Grand Finale JPL contributed numerous end-of-mission coverages for web, TV, social media, news, educational tie-ins, and livestreams. The Emmys will be awarded on 17 September 2018 in Los Angeles.
